About Us

Snyfer is a free website security platform that helps users detect scams, phishing, and fraudulent websites using multi-source threat intelligence.

Our Mission

The internet should be safe for everyone. Yet every year, millions of people fall victim to online scams: fake investment platforms, phishing websites, fraudulent online stores, and crypto schemes that steal personal data and money.

Snyfer was built to change that. We provide free, website security scanning that anyone can use, no technical knowledge required, no account needed. Just enter a URL and get a clear, actionable security verdict with the available evidence.

Active since 2025, Snyfer has analyzed websites against antivirus engines and financial-regulator warnings to keep users one step ahead of scammers.

What We Analyze

Scans combine the sources available at the time of the check. Some checks may be unavailable or incomplete:

  • Antivirus Engines: We scan every URL against multiple antivirus engines simultaneously to detect malware, phishing attempts, and malicious code
  • Blacklist Detection: We check Cloudflare Phishing Protection and Google Safe Browsing for known dangerous sites
  • Financial Regulator Warnings: We cross-reference international financial regulators worldwide for official fraud warnings and enforcement actions
  • SSL/TLS Certificate Validation: We verify HTTPS encryption, certificate authenticity, issuer, and expiration
  • WHOIS & Domain Intelligence: We analyze domain age, registration patterns, ownership data, and privacy status
  • Server & Hosting Analysis: We identify server IP, software, hosting location, and ASN provider
  • HTTP Transactions: We capture every network request, status codes, resource types, and sizes to detect suspicious activity
  • Cookie Security Audit: We analyze cookie flags (Secure, HttpOnly, SameSite) and identify tracking cookies
  • Page Performance & Timing: We measure DNS, TLS handshake, TTFB, and full page load to detect anomalies
  • Redirect Chain Analysis: We trace every redirect to reveal hidden destinations and suspicious routing
  • Resource Breakdown: We catalog all scripts, stylesheets, images, and fonts loaded by the site
  • Technology Detection: We fingerprint CMS, frameworks, analytics, CDNs, and hosting providers
  • Scam Farm Detection: We surface domains sharing code signatures for further investigation; shared code alone does not establish fraud or common ownership
  • Community Reports: Real user feedback and ratings add a human layer to automated analysis
  • AI-Powered Analysis: Automated summaries explain each website's security profile in plain language

Our Tools

Beyond the main scanner, we offer a suite of free security tools:

  • [Scam URL Checker](/scan): Our flagship tool. Comprehensive website security scanning with Trust Score
  • [BreachRadar](/tools/email-breach-checker): Check if your email has been exposed in known data breaches
  • [Password Generator](/tools/password-generator): Generate secure passwords, passphrases, and PINs, 100% client-side, nothing leaves your browser
  • [TechStack Checker](/tools/website-technology-checker): Detect technologies, frameworks, and CMS used by any website

The Trust Score

Every scanned website receives a Trust Score from 0 to 100, calculated through our proprietary badge system. The score evaluates 14 penalty chains and 2 bonus chains, each with escalating severity tiers.

A site flagged by regulators, blacklisted, and running on a new domain will accumulate penalties across multiple chains. Conversely, a well-established site with positive community feedback earns bonus badges.

The result summarises the findings available to the scanner. It does not certify a business or guarantee that payments or personal data are safe. Learn how the Trust Score works.

Why Trust Us

  • Multi-source verification: We never rely on a single data source. Comparing sources helps put detections in context, but false positives and missed threats remain possible
  • Dated evidence: Results show when checks were recorded. Cached results, archived captures and regulator imports can have different dates; check those dates before relying on a finding
  • Transparent scoring: Every badge and penalty is visible on the report page. You see exactly why a site scored the way it did
  • No hidden agenda: We don't sell "trust seals" or charge websites for better scores. The analysis is objective and independent

Our Commitments

  • Free forever: Basic scanning will always be free, no account required
  • Account history: Basic scanning does not require an account. Scans submitted while signed in can be linked to your account for My scans. That history is not shown as a public list of your activity
  • Continuous improvement: Our scoring algorithm is refined regularly based on emerging threat patterns and user feedback
  • Community driven: User feedback and reports help improve accuracy for everyone

Editorial responsibility

Our public editorial signature is Snyfer Research Team. We publish under a collective name to protect contributors working on sensitive investigations. The signature does not mean that every automated scan has been reviewed by a person.

Our scanning methodology explains how evidence is collected, and our Trust Score guide explains how it is interpreted. Sources and observation dates help readers assess individual findings. To challenge an analysis or provide missing context, contact the team.
