The list

What being on it
actually means.

How to read the SFC warnings, what our collection covers, and where to check a firm. Explained by Snyfer using the official sources below.

Understanding the SFC warnings

The Hong Kong SFC Alert List contains several types of alerts. An unlicensed entity, a suspicious platform and a fake regulator are different cases; check the type attached to the entry.

Unlicensed entities

These entries concern entities identified in the unlicensed section of the SFC list.

Suspicious platforms and products

Separate sections cover suspicious virtual-asset platforms, investment products and websites.

Fake authorities

The list also identifies fake regulators or market operators. A claimed official identity should be checked at its source.

Check authorisation or registration

Use the SFC register for licensed persons and registered institutions. Check the separate SFC licensed-platform list when assessing a virtual-asset trading platform.

Visit the official SFC website

Use the authority's own guidance and contact information when checking a provider or raising a concern.

From an official warning to a Snyfer analysis

Use the archive to open the original notice and the domain's Snyfer page. Where scan results and network matches are available, they add technical context. Those matches are Snyfer's analysis; they are not additional findings attributed to SFC.

The numbers

What the archive
shows.

  • Snyfer currently tracks 2,533 notices published by SFC.
  • Those notices name 3,083 distinct domains, an average of 1.2 per notice.
  • February 2026 was the busiest month, with 12 notices.
  • Over the last year that is about 19 warnings a month, counting one per domain named.
  • 0.2 percent of the domains SFC has named are grouped under Kowloon Exchange Ring.
  • 3 groups were still being flagged in the three months to Jul 28, 2026.
  • The most recent notice we hold from SFC is dated Aug 28, 2026. We log notices as they are published and do not track removals, so this archive is a record of what was filed, not of what is listed today.

Clusters

Names that travel
together.

Domains SFC has named that share technical traits with one another. A regulator names firms one at a time; the infrastructure they share is ours to see.
